Women’s Wear Summer 2009 Trends
Credit Crunch? Not here! The summer trends are sexy and flirtatious. From feminine fringing to geometric dresses, we have selected the best looks to incorporate into your wardrobe for the ultimate in glamour and chic which screams optimism. Clothes like these will have you digging out the credit card in no time.
Be a Goddess. The toga inspired dresses this season are floaty and flirty. Think full length and cinched at the waist. The fabrics are sheer and light weight. Be bold in jade greens and purples or keep it elegant in whites and nudes.
Fringing. Sleek, sexy and feminine. The fringing dress popped up in nearly all collections. A modern take on the 1920′s this look is an essential for summer 2009. Jil Sander takes the little black dress to next level, but if your looking for something more economical try Reiss.
Jumpsuits. A return to the 80′s. These are great all in one outfits which go great with blazers and big belts. Go for nude colours for day and try out the 80′s bright, bold twist for the evening.
One shoulder trend. This season really focused on the shoulders. Wether bare or big. Want a little cover and this look is perfect for you. Perfect for the summer heat and showing a glimpse of tanned flesh. Gucci really encapsulated the look with bold jade greens and purples.
Pleats and Ruffles. These really went hand in hand with each other and give a great glamour feel to skirts, dresses and shirts. Again we see sheer fabrics which keep a sleek sillouette.
Blazers. These came with cropped or long sleeves. Great for dressing up any outfit for a summer evening. The 80′s theme cropped up again, so if your feeling brave go for big shoulder pads.
Geometry rules. Geometric designs hit this seasons catwalks. From patterns to more boxy looking outfits. Another of the hot trends to add to your look.
Sky high – the killer heel! These made a grand entrance rather than an appearance. Fringing, buckles and laces….it’s all about intricate detail. Everyone was in agreement that this is the hottest trend of summer 2009. Go as high as you dare!!!

Thanks For posting this! All the fashion labels seem to be going for the same kind of “layered look”.
